HARRISBURG – Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) was presented with a Guardian of Small Business award this week by the Pennsylvania arm of the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB).
“Our Commonwealth is home to one million small businesses that employ 2.5 million of our citizens,” Dowling said. “Clearly, small businesses are a driving force in our economy, and it is my honor to do what I can as a state legislator to assist them and the people who rely on them to support themselves and their families.”
The Guardian of Small Business award is the most prestigious honor that NFIB bestows on legislators in recognition of their efforts to support small businesses. Legislators only receive this award for being a strong and consistent advocate for small business in the Pennsylvania General Assembly.
“Rep. Dowling has consistently been in full support of the small business community, and that is reflected in his 100% voting record,” said Greg Moreland, NFIB state director. “He has been a champion of small business in his legislative district and throughout the Commonwealth. NFIB PA is proud to recognize Rep. Dowling as a Guardian of Small Business.”
