Representatives from the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) and local schools, including vocational schools and institutions of higher education, will be on hand to help students with financial aid questions. The seminars are open to high school juniors and seniors, as well as non-traditional students and their families.

Seniors for Safe Driving will provide a PennDOT-approved course for Mature Driver Improvement. The course is designed for drivers 55 years-of-age and older to become safer and more confident on the road. Upon completion of the course, participants may receive a minimum of 5% discount on their auto insurance premium for 3 years, as mandated by Pennsylvania State Law. Registration is required. Family Expo
Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Uniontown Mall, 1368 Mall Run Road, Uniontown

Rep. Dowling’s Family Expo is designed to provide information about all phases of family life; including children, adults, senior citizens, veterans and workers. This event is a community service to give anyone, regardless of age, an opportunity to become more educated about the services available for them in and around our area. Vendors ranging anywhere from nonprofit agencies, to healthcare providers, to government entities, to homecare professionals will be on-hand to provide information about their services. A variety of presentations and activities for all ages will be provided throughout the day.

Concealed Carry Seminars
Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Salisbury VFD Social Hall, (385 Ord St, Salisbury)

This seminar includes presentations focusing on the important aspects of the Second Amendment and gun owner rights. Conceal carry permit holders or those looking to uptrain a conceal carry permit are encouraged to attend. Presenters include representatives from the Fayette and Somerset County Sheriff’s Department, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Firearms Owners Against Crime and others. A question and answer session will follow the presentations.
