Small Business Seminar

Local (current or aspiring) small business owners and managers are invited to attend a seminar focusing on the best practices and methods for operating or launching a business in our area. Representatives from state agencies will be on hand to answer questions and provide insight.

Senior Bus Trip to the Capitol

Constituents are invited to take a trip to the State Capitol, where tours of the governor’s residence and the capital building have been arranged. Limited seating available, bus tickets to be purchased from Fayette County Community Action Agency. Lunch available at own expense.

Concealed Carry Seminars

This seminar includes presentations focusing on the important aspects of the Second Amendment and Gun Owner Rights. Conceal carry permit holders or those looking to uptrain a conceal carry permit, are encouraged to attend. Presenters include representatives from the Fayette and Somerset County Sheriff’s Department, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, Firearms Owners Against Crime and others. A question and answer session will follow the presentations.

Community Paper Shredding Event

               Friday, April 26                 SeniorLIFE Parking Lot at Five Corners     11:30 AM – 6 PM

This event, which will feature a paper shredding company, providing the opportunity for households to shred up to four packing boxes of materials. This will be for paper only, no cardboard or other items.

 

Veteran’s Recognition Picnic & Ceremony

Local veterans will be honored in a ceremony followed by lunch. Event is open to all members of the community.

Hunger Garden Planting

This event will be the ceremonial planting of our Hunger Garden. At the event, donations will be collected for the Fayette County Community Action Food Bank. Local vendors will also be on-site for refreshments.
