Dowling Appointed to House State Government Committee
UNIONTOWN – Rep. Matt Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) was appointed to serve as a member of the House State Government Committee.

The State Government Committee considers legislation that deals with all aspects of state government, including proposed amendments to the Pennsylvania Constitution, statewide initiatives and referenda, the Public Official and Employee Ethics Act, the Regulatory Review Act, legislative redistricting, Election Code reform, lobbyist disclosure and campaign financing.

“I am honored to have the opportunity to serve on the House State Government Committee,” Dowling said. “I look forward to working alongside my colleagues in sending through legislation that will improve the functions of our state government.”

Dowling also serves as a member of:
Children and Youth which addresses a variety of health and safety issues for children under the age of 18, as well as adoption and foster care issues.
Gaming Oversight which addresses large-scale gaming in the Commonwealth, as well as the Bingo Act and the Small Games of Chance Act, which help community organizations raise funds for projects and services.
Local Government which focuses on laws and regulations impacting the operation of local government entities, including counties and municipalities, as well as municipal authorities.
Urban Affairs which focuses on the unique challenges facing cities of all sizes in the Commonwealth.

The committee assignments will last until the end of the current legislative cycle in November.
