SALISBURY – To provide gun owners with the information they need to be responsible with their Second Amendment rights, Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) will host a concealed carry seminar on Saturday, Oct. 26, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Salisbury VFD Social Hall, 385 Ord St., Salisbury.
UNIONTOWN – Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) is hosting a free Family Expo on Saturday, Oct. 12, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Uniontown Mall, 1368 Mall Run Road, Uniontown. The expo will focus on all phases of family life and be geared toward children, parents/adults, senior citizens, veterans and workers.
HARRISBURG – Today, the House Judiciary Committee approved two bills drafted by Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) to preserve the rights of Pennsylvania’s law-abiding citizens. The first would protect Second Amendment rights during emergencies, and the second would permit possession of a taser without device instructions.
UNIONTOWN – To enhance an existing walking trail in the Fayette Business Park in Georges Township, Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) advocated for a $168,807 grant that was approved by the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA) today. The planned improvements to the existing walking trail will increase public safety by removing pedestrians from the busy roads throughout the industrial park.
UNIONTOWN – Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) is hosting two Senior Safe Driving courses. The first will be held Friday, Sept. 20, at the Third Presbyterian Church, 425. Union St., Uniontown, and the second will be held Friday, Sept. 27, at the Meyersdale American Legion, 413 Grant St., Meyersdale. Both courses will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
UNIONTOWN – To help students considering their education options and families beginning the financial aid process, Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) is partnering with the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA) to host two financial aid seminars.

UNIONTOWN – Following a meeting with officials from the Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission (PFBC), the Pennsylvania Game Commission (PGC) and the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources regarding possible resolutions for the overgrowth at Cranberry Lake, Rep. UNIONTOWN – In the vein of an overarching theme driven by House Republican Caucus this legislative session, state Reps. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset), Seth Grove (R-York) and Justin Walsh (R-Westmoreland) drafted the Reinventing Government bill package to create better government, more economic prosperity and stronger communities.
WHAT: Rep. Jeff Pyle (R-Armstrong/Butler/Indiana), majority chairman of the House Liquor Control Committee, and other members of the committee will hold a public hearing to discuss Rep. Matt Dowling’s (R-Fayette/Somerset) Customer Convenience Permit legislation, House Bill 1644.
WHAT: A press conference in conjunction with a senior Walmart executive to present a check to the Redstone Foundation, the nonprofit arm of the Fayette Chamber of Commerce. The $10,000 contribution will be used for the Fayette Business Education Partnership and will fund programs that support High Priority Occupations (HPOs) within the region.
WHAT: A press conference in conjunction with senior Walmart executives to present a check to South Union Township. The funding helped to provide South Union Township with Fayette County’s first and only dog park. These funds helped the supervisors acquire a blighted property, which was reclaimed and renovated to create this leash-free canine park along the Sheepskin Trail. In addition, this funding will also assist in the purchase of additional resources along the Sheepskin – to be announced at the press conference.
