HARRISBURG – Rep. Matt Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) announced that the Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) awarded grants to Fayette and Somerset counties, as well as other counties and municipal governments in Pennsylvania, for their recycling and leaf collection programs.

“Recycling and leaf collection programs have proven to be very beneficial to the Commonwealth as they provide services to keep Pennsylvania clean and free from being littered with trash,” said Dowling. “These grants will strengthen these programs as they continue to educate the public about the important of recycling, as well as improve their already established facilities.”

In Fayette County, the county itself received $245,000 and German Township received $81,000.

In Somerset County, the county received $94,275.
