MEYERSDALE – The new Somerset County district office of Rep. Matthew Dowling (R -Fayette/Somerset) officially opened for business on Tuesday with a ribbon cutting and open house celebration.

The new office is located at 518 Beachley St.

“We are excited to offer this new location and expanded office hours in the Somerset County portion of the 51st Legislative District,” Dowling said. “I encourage everyone to stop by the office for whatever state-related questions, concerns or assistance they may need.”

The new location is open two days a week on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, instead of just one, and the hours of operation have been expanded to 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The phone number remains the same, 814-634-4390.

The office is handicap accessible and there is ample parking nearby.

The Meyersdale Community Center, where the office previously was located, will continue to offer various brochures and publications from Dowling’s office.

The office provides a variety of services, including assistance with driver’s licenses, vehicle registrations and other PennDOT paperwork; information and applications for state programs, such as Property Tax/Rent Rebate, PACE/PACENET and Children’s Health Insurance Program; birth and death certificates; information about legislation; assistance with resolving matters related to state agencies; and more.
