HARRISBURG – Rep. Matthew Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) issued the following statement regarding Fay-Penn Economic Development Council’s construction of a 100,500-square-foot building expansion at the Fayette Business Park in Georges Township:

“In these uncertain times, many organizations are taking a wait-and-see approach. Some are shelving projects, but Fay-Penn is taking action and building the kind of facility we will need as the economy rebounds from COVID-19.

“Not only will the project offer temporary construction jobs, it also has the potential to create 250 permanent, family-sustaining jobs. Especially when so many people are out of work because of the pandemic, this project will be critical in helping Fayette County to reclaim its economic stability.

“I look forward to seeing what business comes to the county because of this expansion, which is scheduled to be completed in the late fall.”
