UNIONTOWN – Rep. Matt Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) encourages those looking to obtain a concealed carry permit and current concealed carry permit holders to attend his spring Concealed Carry Seminar.

“With recent debates on firearms and House Bill 768, it is important for residents to be informed of their Second Amendment rights and the rights that they have as gun owners,” said Dowling. “These concealed carry seminars offer our communities this information and allow them to engage with local and state agencies in a constructive manner.”

The seminar will take place on Saturday, April 13, the Markleysburg Volunteer Fire Department, 100 Fireman Lane, Markleysburg, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

This seminar includes presentations focusing on the important aspects of the Second Amendment and gun owner rights. Presenters include representatives from the Fayette County sheriff’s department, the Pennsylvania Game Commission, and Firearms Owners Against Crime. A question and answer session will follow the presentations.

Registration is required. Those who wish to attend can register online at or contact Dowling’s district office at 724-438-6100.

Should anyone be unable to make this seminar, Dowling is hosting a second Concealed Carry Seminar in Somerset County on Saturday, Oct. 26, at the Salisbury Volunteer Fire Department Social Hall, 385 Ord St., Salisbury, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
