UNIONTOWN – Rep. Matt Dowling (R-Fayette/Somerset) is hosting a bus trip to the State Capitol on Thursday, April 11.
“This event gives our local seniors the opportunity to see our state’s capitol and all it has to offer without making the lengthy drive themselves,” said Dowling. “I look forward to spending the day with all those who attend and hope they enjoy this wonderful experience.”
For area senior citizens, the bus will leave at 6:30 a.m. from the Uniontown Mall and stop at the Markleysburg Fellowship at 7 a.m. and the Grantsville Shop and Save in Maryland at 7:30 a.m. While in Harrisburg, seniors will have the opportunity to tour the governor’s residence and the Capitol building. In addition to the tours, Rep. Dowling will take questions about state government and current legislation.
Seats are limited for this trip. Those wishing to attend can purchase bus tickets through the Fayette County Community Action Agency. Anyone wishing to make the drive themselves are welcome to request free spots on the tours. Lunch will also be offered at the individual’s expense at the Dodge City Steakhouse, which was featured on Season two of FOOD Network’s Restaurant Impossible with Chef Robert Irvine.
