Rep. Dowling Comments Following the Governor's Budget Address - 2/5/2019
Gov. Tom Wolf unveiled his 2019-2020 state budget proposal on Tuesday in Harrisburg. The $34 billion spending plan represents a nearly 1 billion dollar increase in state spending over last year. Rep. Matt Dowling (R-Fayette & Somerset) said he is pleased to see no tax increase in the Governor's budget proposal, but is concerned with how he plans to pay for the new spending.
Rep. Dowling Offers His Outlook on the Governor’s Inauguration Speech - 1/15/2019
The House of Representatives was in session Tuesday in the state capitol and members had the opportunity to attend Governor Wolf’s inauguration ceremony for his second term. In his speech, the Governor struck a conciliatory note and called for increased spirit of cooperation between the General Assembly and the administration. Rep. Matt Dowling (R-Fayette & Somerset) said he was encouraged by the Governor’s bipartisan positive tone and looks forward to working with him on the upcoming annual state budget.
